Division Responsibilities:The Harris County Precinct Five Parks Patrol Division applies a comprehensive and innovative approach to provide patrols to the more than 60 county parks assigned to Precinct 5; which encompass approximately 14,000 acres.
The Parks Division utilizes marked patrol vehicles, foot patrols, ATV Patrols, bicycle patrols along with mounted horse patrols in efforts to cover all areas of the parks including the more remote and heavily wooded sections. The diversity of these patrols, allows for the division to maintain a higher degree of visibility throughout the parks. Unmarked patrol vehicles are also used on a daily basis to patrol the parks.
In addition, the Parks Division is responsible for patrols of Harris County flood control district property, U.S Army Corp. of Engineering property, 6 Harris County Precinct Three Commissioners community centers and 5 Harris County Libraries.
