JOB TITLE:                   Technology Training Assistant  

 

DEPARTMENT:             Library

                                       Lone Star College - Tomball Community Library Branch         Tomball, Texas 

 

HOURS:                        40 Hours per Week

                                       Includes Nights and Saturdays As Needed 

 

SALARY:                       $2,776.80 per Month

                                       Plus Mileage Reimbursement

Based on 26 Pay Periods

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. Two years of college or technical training and two years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience providing individual instruction and user support for Microsoft Office software, the Internet and common e-mail software is required. Similar teaching experience in a classroom environment is preferred.

 

JOB SKILLS: The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good oral and written communication skills.  Recent certification as a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent is strongly preferred A Texas driver's license is required upon employment and access to a vehicle that can be used for personal transportation to library sites. Must be customer service oriented, enjoys working in a team environment and has the ability to work well with the public and library staff in a fast-paced environment. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Supports the day-to-day operation of a Library Technology Training Lab and/or public access computer area; provides individualized technical assistant to library users.  Provides a minimum of five instructional classes per week including evenings and weekends as needed.  Assists the Network Services Staff in trouble-shooting technical and network problems; attends and participates in professional activities, staff meetings training, conferences and committees; obtains a minimum of 20 training hours per calendar year.  Travels to branch library sites within the county in performance of job duties; performs other duties as required.
