The state of Texas, through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, mandates a specific number of continuing education hours each two-year training cycle.

Precinct 3 through its Training Division provides all of the required training and also provides additional training to maintain, increase and advance the law enforcement skills of its sworn personnel.

The department has several experienced instructors who are well versed in all aspects of law enforcement training.  On average our officers receive three to four times the training hours that are mandated by the state legislature.
 

In addition to State mandated training (TCLOSE) required for Texas peace officers, Precinct 3 also conducts training in related fields for reserve and regular officers.
