The Patrol Division of Precinct 3 has more deputies than any other division and handles approximately 6,500 calls for service per month; providing 24-hour coverage 7 days a week.  The Patrol Division works traffic enforcement, accidents, burglaries, thefts and disturbances as well as performing a wide variety of patrol services and community relations.

Included in the Patrol Division are six school contracts;   Channelview ISD, Crosby ISD, Dayton ISD, Galena Park ISD, Harris County Department of Education and Sheldon ISD.  Deputies assigned to the schools provide law enforcement and security services for the districts.
